OLPC Australia’s goal is to provide each of the 400,000 children living in remote communities with an XO laptop in the next five years.
We've sent some of Australia’s favourite personalities, including Christine Anu, James Harris, Clint Bizzell and Samantha Harris, to visit these schools and inspire classes to use their laptops and chase their dreams. Check out the video for their stories, behind-the-scenes footage and an in-depth look at the program in action.
We're also connecting these laptops to the internet with our Next G™ network, to give these children in coverage areas access to the world of online information. This gives them the resources to broaden their horizons and help them chase their dreams.
To help these communities experience all the benefits the online world has to offer, we’re also providing cyber-safety advice so that no matter what age, online interest or skill level they’ll have some of the tools to stay safe online.
As always, you can keep up-to-date with this initiative by subscribing to our Ideas for Good enewsletter.
